Okay! We have two lucky winners of FRENEMIES! Drumroll.... Sara and Book Adorer! Congrats! You two have 48 hours to e-mail (jessica [at] jessicaburkhart [dot] com) me your name and an address for Alexa to send the book. If I don' t hear from you within two days, I have to draw a new winner. Thank you to Alexa and check the sidebar for new contests!

Onto other things...

This is a new video that I made over the weekend. It's almost my one year anniversary in publishing since I got The Call that TAKE THE REINS was going to be a book. So, this video looks back at my year and shows a few things that I love and keep close to me. I hope you enjoy the video! :) (And isn't my shirt SO TTR appropriate?!)

Hmm. I don't know why! It's working on LiveJournal, apparently. :/

That was SUCH a fun video, Jessica! I love reading/hearing about your debut year and your excitement. :)

If it's not too personal, why can't you ride horses anymore?

Thanks, Erin! :)

It's not too personal at all! When I was 13, I had a spinal fusion for scoliosis. So, I've got a titanium rod and lots of screws in my back. If I ride and fall off, I could be paralyzed and break the rod. So it's really my choice not to take that risk. For now anyway. :)

Hey Jessica-
Another fun video--and thanks for sharing your "got the call!" moment! I was returning a rental car on 02/04/2004- it's a day I'll never forget!

WOW, Jess. I LOVE LOVE LOVE your video. Your call story was so cool, and your balloon, too.

I have my cover framed and on the wall.... and like you I look at it and think... that's my first novel.... and whatever happens nothing can take that away.

Enjoy the coming year. Can't wait to read the book when it comes out.

Aww! Jess that was so fun! I love The Balloon. It's great that you have something tangible from that day...and what a fun tradition to start!
