Reading binge

I've been reading like crazy this past weekend and now beginning of this week. When I get so wrapped up in writing, my reading time gets restricted a bit. But I've been on a little writing break, so I've been attacking the books in my gotta read pile.

First, Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Don't know WHY I didn't read this book before now. OMG, it's one of those books where I sit up and say, "Damn! I wish I'd written that!" If you haven't read it, it's fun, fantastic and one of the best boy narrated books I've ever read. I've got the second one on order now.

I've also gotten addicted to the Beacon Street Girls series by Annie Bryant. They're adorable tween books and they have this timeless feel because they aren't overly peppered with fast changing pop culture references. Love them.

Then, I read Off Season. It's even better than Dairy Queen. So. Good.

My list is still long with several Class of 2k8 books and various others. I'm getting through it, though.

Oh! I've chosen the second book in my Best Beach Reads. Video number two (to be shot soon) is... Rites of Spring (Break) by Diana Peterfreund. Yay! Look for that vlog review coming soon.

What's everyone reading right now?

Oh I'm jealous of all of your reading! I don't read YA while I'm writing it, and since I"m on deadline, not much reading as of late . . .though I have BIG PLANS for when I get done- my shelves are beckoning!

Just finished Serena Robar's YA Braced to Bite..... I LOVED it. Now I'm into a bit of adult fiction and have the latest Jennifer Weiner.
I bet they're groaning for you to lighten their load, Alyson. :)

I hadn't heard of Braced to Bite, Sara. I'll add that to my list.

I've been on a reading binge too! I just finished Stardust and I'm nearing the end of 13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson (the first of hers that I've read...can you believe that?).

Others on the list:
Into the Wilderness
Rites of Spring (just bought it a few days ago)
The People's History of the United States (this'll be a big one...)
Ooh, Steph. Tsk, tsk. LOL MJ is the YA goddess. :) Girl at Sea and the Bermudez Triangle are two of my favs of hers. They're excellent. Into the Wilderness is on my list. My brother read it and loved it.

I've been on a reading binge lately as well. I just finished The Fidelity Files by Jessica Brody (OMG, so good), Such a Pretty Fat by Jen Lancaster (SO funny!). Now I'm getting ready to start KITTY KITTY by Michelle Jaffe.
Me too! It must be summer. I'm just about finished FIDELITY FILES for my column. Now, I'm reading HOW TO BE BAD. Great book, of course. :)
Oooh, The Fidelity Files must be good! I'll add it to my list!

This weekend, I'm going to be a hermit and stay in. I'll be writing non-stop and getting that word count meter bar moving.
