If you've seen the pics below, you know I had a wonderful time at Rochester's B&N at the Apache Mall. Kate came and introduced me to the crowd while Ross shot all of this footage. Thanks, Ross and Kate!
In one of these videos . . . I read an excerpt from INITIATION! :D Enjoy!
I've got serious writing to do. Have Diet Coke, coffee, kitty, gloss . . . all set!

Pics from signing in Rochester, MN
This past Sunday, September 18th, I had the pleasure of signing books and doing a surprise reading of an excerpt from INITIATION! :) The members of Team Canterwood who came were AMAZING. One reader got a bright blue feather in her hair because I had them! And Olivia brought me a lip gloss! So. Sweet.
The Rochester crowd was filled with TC people from all over--some even driving two+ hours to get to B&N. I can't thank you all enough for coming. I had so much fun. :)
Enjoy these pics and the video will be up soon!
Thanks to Kate for playing photographer. Thank you, also, to Brianna for helping with the event and Ross for filming.
xoxo

Book signing this weekend!
The Brooklyn Trio got into Rochester on Tuesday night and crashed. There have been lots of appointments at Mayo and, for the first time, a doctor who listened. Dr. H has an idea of what could be causing K's pain and though we won't know for a while, there need to be more tests, etc., we're all happy that there is finally the tiniest bit of hope and something to go on. I don't want to share too much of K's personal stuff, but I wanted to thank you all for the love and support. I promise to keep you updated with how she's feeling and if this doctor's guess turns out to be correct.
I'm writing a piece that's due soon and using the hotel's color printer like CRAZY. Been printing tons of Facebook pics that I've wanted to have. Now, I'll have things to frame at home.
I'm probably going to head over to the downtown Rochester Barnes & Noble to sign stock like I did last time. How can I NOT visit that castle-like B&N?
I'm also superpumped about my signing on Sunday. Again, the details:
Sunday, September 18th at 2pm
Rochester, Minnesota
Barnes & Noble at the Apache Mall (NOT the downtown location)
Come say hi! I don't want to be all alone, lol! :) I'm already superexcited that Lauren, the winner of my 15-minute phone chat from eBay, is coming. Our talk turned into half an hour because she was so supercool. Her awesome mom won the chat and the proceeds from all of my eBay auctions are going to the ASPCA.
If anyone else is interested, I'll add a Skype video chat, phone call, etc., to eBay and we'll see if we can help more animals with donations!
TGIF! What are your weekend plans?

Away we go!
Off to Rochester, Minnesota!
Again, I'm asking for your good luck wishes, prayers, thoughts, etc., for Kate as we try to find a way to get her feeling well again.
I hope our Mayo Clinic experience is as good as it was last time.
Also, I hope to see some TC members at my signing on Sunday. :)

Thanks, Team Canterwood!
I've been receiving some lovely e-mails from Team Canterwood regarding UNFRIENDLY COMPETITION. I know we're all sad to say goodbye to Sasha, but I'm thrilled that you guys are excited about the next chapter for Canterwood. :)
I just finished copy edits on CHOSEN last night--yay!
Today, I'm working on my YA project and outlining the next Canterwood book. Veeery exciting!
Have a great day, guys!
PS: Any of my blog readers attending my NYC signing on the 19th? I hope so!

Visit to Lake City Community College--pics! :)

Dr. Hurner (my Freshman Comp I) prof. I referenced him in my speech and talked about how he gave me an F on my first essay at LCCC. *grins*

Magic! She came over with Debbie and George from Gentle Carousel.
This morning, I did a school visit at Richardson Middle School in Lake City, Florida. I had a fantastic time visting Dr. Summers' class and I'll be getting those photos soon. I'll share all of the details about the school visit after I get the pics.
At 10am, I appeared on LCCC's campus show--Perspectives. Thanks to Mike McKee for interviewing me on the show. I got a DVD of the show and I have a new favorite word. I said it a lot. "Absolutely." :) But I didn't say "so!"
Then, at 2pm, I signed books and made a speech in the library. It was so much fun!
Thank you to everyone at LCCC, especially:
Jim Morris
Sonja Yarborough
Charles Hall
Mike McKee
Audrey Hulen
Also, my past professors who stopped by--Harriet Poole, Larry Gunter and David Hurner--it was great to see you!

When I had a break, I met with Debbie and Jorge Garcia-Bengochea. Debbie and Jorge run an amazing organization called Gentle Carousel. The program uses mini horses for therapy to visit sick and abused children. Debbie, Jorge and Magic met me at LCCC. I took a photo with Magic for their Website and signed books for them to use in their program. You can view the info they posted about Canterwood here on their Website. Just scroll about halfway down the page. I'm

Book signing at BAM with lots of pics! :)

My friend Greg who came and made me promise to remember him when I become famous. ;) It was great to see you, Greg!

One of the nicest guys I've ever met. He's a retired colonel and he was so sweet. He even took video as I signed the book.

The set up outside the doors. I just sat down inside and hoped that someone would actually show up. I was going through JA Konrath's signing advice in my head. It really helped, Joe. Thanks!

Bill Bothwell, the community ambassador at BAM. He coordinated this entire event. Thank you, thank you, Bill.
*Soooo, my first signing at Books-A-Million was AMAZING! We were under the threat of a tornado watch, yet people still came. I got started at 11am and by 2pm, it started to look scary outside. We closed up shop with zero books left. I met so many great people and had a blast.
The girls that I met were so sweet and smart. I'll be visiting some of their schools soon and they promised to come up and say hi again.
It was fun to meet readers and almost every girl had a horse story to tell me. Either they ride at summer camp, or rode a friend's pony last summer or even just petted a horse once. I loved talking to all of you and thank you for coming to see me!
The entire signing was great and it was a wonderful first experience. :) I was super nervous last night! I think I was Twittering at midnight about how freaked out I was and I had to force myself not to call/text everyone in my phone for advice.
Thank you so much to the follow people/businesses:
Bill Bothwell
Mary Lackey and family
Weekend Furniture Bargains for providing my gorgeous desk
Fresh Market for the lovely orchid
Books-A-Million for hosting me
Tommy for bringing the hay
Happy Trails Ranch for providing the hay
The Books-A-Million employees for talking up Take the Reins

Book signing at Tallahassee Books-a-Million
On Saturday, I visited my local shops and handed out flyers for my first signing! So. Exciting. The details:When: Saturday, February 28 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Tallahassee's Books-a-Million (3521 Thomasville Road)
I'll be signing copies of Take the Reins and...special guests are coming! Two miniature horses just like the one in this pic! Mary Lackey of Sundance Oaks Miniature Horse Farm will be bringing two of her mini horses to the BAM parking lot. They'll be available for everyone to pet and enjoy.
Thanks so much to Bill Bothwell and Books-a-Million for hosting me. I can't wait! :)
Also, I've heard from a couple of girls that they've received their March/April issue of YOUNG RIDER Magazine. Be on the lookout for it on newsstands because Canterwood is featured inside! I haven't seen the issue yet, so I need to get my hands on a copy. :) My local stores are still stocking the Jan/Feb issue. I'll post a pic of it, though, when I grab one. Thanks so, so much to Lesley Ward and Allison Griest!
